One of six CIA security contractors that inspired the film 13 HOURS:  The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.  Dave "Boon" Benton has a combined 25 years serving in specialized teams and leadership roles in the military, law enforcement, high threat and high net worth protective security, and the intelligence community.  He has held many positions on various teams from assaulter, sniper, breacher, tactical medical provider, team leader, and instructor positions from explosive entry to SWAT.  His specialized knowledge  blended with his competitive shooting and combative sports experience ( Boxing ,BJJ, MMA, USPSA) give him the depth to provide full spectrum realistic training solutions .

    The Urban Rifle Tactics Course introduces the student to the core fundamentals of running the Carbine for defensive purposes.


    Topics covered:
    •Carbine safety and handling.
    •Fundamentals of marksmanship.
    •The why and how of zeroing the defensive carbine.
    •4 points of contact.
    •Emergency / Tactical reloads.
    •Ready vs. carry positions.
    •Shooting positions.
    •Defensive use of cover.
    •Dealing with stoppages/malfunctions.
    •Multiple threat engagement.
    •Mechanical offset.
    •Engaging threats in a 360-degree environment.
    •Ballistics and more.

    Required gear:
    •Carbine (556/300blk/7.62x39/ 9mm/ etc.)
    •3 Carbine magazines. Sling (2 points recommended).
    •300 rounds of carbine ammo.
    •Ability to carry 1 Carbine magazine on your body.
    •Pistol. 50 rounds of pistol ammo.
    •2 pistol magazines.
    •Ability to carry at least 1 pistol magazine on your body.
    •Quality pistol holster that stays open after drawing.
    •Hat and sunscreen recommend.
    •Eyes protection.
    •Ear protection that allows a proper check weld.

    Vehicle Close Quarter Defense focuses on fundamental defensive skills in and around vehicles. This course will include a vehicle ballistic discussion, concealed carry considerations while seated in the vehicle, and force on force.

    Topics covered:
    •    Concealed carry considerations while seated.
    •Shooting in and out of vehicles
    •Vehicles TTP’s
    •Vehicle Ballistic discussion of your defensive rounds
    •Vehicle use of cover
    •Protecting multiple passengers
    •Managing multiple threats
    •Force on Force

    Required gear:
    •    Quality IWB or OWB holster (NO NYLON HOLSTERS)
    •Open or closed concealment garment.
    •Quality pistol of at least 9mm/ .38 caliber
    •The ability to carry at least one spare magazine or speed loader on your body.
    •At least 3 magazines or speed loaders
    •200 rounds of ammunition
    •Wrap around eye protection
    •Hearing protection (Noise Cancelling Earmuffs preferred)
    •Long sleeves and pants recommended (for broken glass)
    •Baseball style cap
    •Knee and elbow pads highly recommended
